Champion mare Winx will headline a star studded morning at The Valley with Breakfast with the Best on Tuesday morning.

The three-time Cox Plate heroine will step out for her final serious track gallop ahead of her title defence in Saturday’s $5 million feature, working at 6.20am in front of what is expected to be a large crowd of admirers at the popular spring event.

Winx will be the first horse to make use of the track.

Many of the leading contenders for the two-day Cox Plate Carnival will gallop on Tuesday morning, including Cox Plate challengers D’Argento, Avilius and Savvy Coup, along with Manikato Stakes nominations Spright and Sunlight.

Racing.com will broadcast live from The Valley from 6.30am AEDT, with Jason Richardson joined by Jayne Ivil, Nic Ashman and Grace Ramage for the track gallops, interviewing key participants.

At 8.00am AEDT, David Basheer will be joined by Warren Huntly, Nic Ashman and Jayne Ivil to review the star performers of the morning.

Then, at 8.30am AEDT, the official barrier draws for the Group 1 Manikato Stakes and Cox Plate will take place, hosted by Jason Richardson, with RSN927’s Michael Felgate, international commentator Matthew Chapman and Jayne Ivil speaking to the owners, trainers and jockeys with runners in the two big races.
