IS this where the winning streak ends? That thought went through the minds of thousands of racegoers at Royal Randwick on Saturday when Winx was 10 lengths off the tearaway leader Red Excitement at the 600m mark in the Chelmsford Stakes and under riding.

The ever-cool Hugh Bowman conceded he was more worried than a fortnight ago and fair play to Red Excitement’s jockey Josh Parr for his daring tactics and almost pulling off the unthinkable.

What can you say? She finds a way to keep making us leave the racetrack saying ‘wow’. She is a legend, the best I’ve seen. Long may her winning streak continue.
