The hard thing for jockey Hugh Bowman about Winx attempting to win her fourth Cox Plate is the expectation.

The public’s belief that the Cox Plate is a formality on Saturday, when the jockey knows she will have to be at the top of her game as the world comes knocking.

Her 28-race winning streak and 21 group 1 wins are mind-boggling even for the master jockey, but they are all equal when the barriers open at Moonee Valley.

“It is a bit about one horse this week,” Bowman said on Sunday. “But she has earned that.

”It is an important time of year and it will be busy this week but Winx is the focus. As she should be.”
