Bowman climbs off sick bed to ride Winx in track gallop

Running in between the opening two races on day one of The Championships, the wonder mare kicked into a gallop from the 1000m and made her way home in 34.26 seconds over the last 600m.
Bowman confirmed after the gallop that he would ride ln trials on Monday and resume his place in the race saddle on Wednesday at Warwick Farm.
“She felt as good as she looked this afternoon. She’s obviously in great shape, and I haven’t been on her since the George Ryder win, so it was lovely to be back on her and she feels as strong as ever,” Bowman said.
“I’ve really come good now, I just contracted a bit of a virus which struck me down.
